Marine Innovation: Hy.G Motors Supports SDIS 56

On April 8, 2026,Hy.G Motorsreached a major milestone in the deployment of nautical innovation by organizing a test session with the nautical leadership of the Morbihan Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS 56).

This technical meeting allowed us to test ourelectric propulsion systemsin the real-world conditions faced by firefighters, combining operational performance with industrial sovereignty.

Addressing Environmental Challenges with RIM Technology

Water rescue teams frequently respond to incidents at sensitive water bodies and drinking water sources where regulations requirezero emissions.

OurRIM technologyprovides an immediate solution to these challenges:

  • Environmentally friendly: Our motors are designed without oil or grease, eliminating any risk of pollution from leaching.
  • Enhanced safety: Unlike conventional propellers, the shaftless marine thruster isenclosed, providing complete protection for divers and rescue personnel in the vicinity.
  • Improved communication: The quiet operation of the marine brushless motor facilitatesthe transmission of critical information during rescue missions.

French expertise in the service of Civil Protection

This collaborative project arose from the SDIS 56’s desire to explore cutting-edge solutions.

Attracted by the assurance of French manufacturing and the expertise of ourdesign office, the Morbihan team chose Hy.G Motors for its innovative approach and abilityto provide customized solutions.

For these professionals, the challenge is to adopt a next-generationelectric drive systemcapable of deliveringhigh efficiencyand simplifying maneuvers under demanding conditions.

Operational validation: three configurations put to the test

This morning's test session demonstrated the versatility of our product line through three specific tests:

  • The RIM1.5: Mounted on a lightweight boat, this electric pod has demonstrated exceptional maneuverability during training sessions.

  •  The RIM6: Tested on the same unit, this electric outboard motor has proven its ability to deliver superior thrust for heavy-duty operational needs.

  •  The drone kit: Mounted on a Rescue Board (a paddleboard), this device can transform any platform into an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) or motorized support in just 5 minutes.

It allows the rescuer to reach a victim more quickly while conserving energy.

The future of emergency response is electric

These tests confirm that electric propulsion is the future of aquatic rescue operations.
As noted by the members of SDIS 56 who were present:

"You have to know how to move with the times and not rest on your laurels. Innovate, master your craft, and move forward."

AtHy.G Motors, we are proud to put our expertise asspecialists in electric propulsionto work for those who protect us.
